St Barnabas Cathedral Church Nottingham RC
Client Brief - To assess the lighting scheme that was originally installed in the cathedral in 1994, in order to provide a more cost effective, energy efficient and easy-to-use system.
Once the site had been surveyed, the first phase involved replacing the lamps and faulty control gear in the up/down lighting fixtures and projector fittings, plus adding and relocating fittings in the sanctuary area to offer a subtle lighting effect. It was important that the lighting highlighted specific features, whilst at the same time complementing the natural lighting from the stained glass windows.
The second phase of the project involved a complete re-design of the main internal switching panel, which consisted of over 130 grid switches. A bespoke energy saving switching system was installed, with an easy-to-use push button control plate.
